I have a deep passion for working with couples, which is why 90% of my practice is dedicated to this work.

I am a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist, a designation that required a years-long process of advanced instruction, three distinct levels of training, and rigorous supervised practice to demonstrate mastery of this evidence-based approach. In addition, I have advanced training in several other leading models of couples therapy, including:
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — a highly researched, attachment-based model focused on repairing emotional bonds.
-
The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy — which emphasizes growth, differentiation, and healthy interdependence.
-
Discernment Counseling — a structured approach for “mixed-agenda” couples in which one partner is considering divorce while the other wishes to preserve the relationship.
I offer couples therapy in multiple formats: traditional in-office sessions, online therapy, and highly focused intensive retreats. These retreats are one-couple-at-a-time, immersive experiences that take place over two and a half days, either in Los Angeles, CA, or at a serene lakefront setting in Ellington, CT.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and earned my master’s degree in social work from Columbia University in 1997. Following graduate school, I completed four years of post-graduate training in couple and family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family in New York City, one of the premier training institutes for relational therapy worldwide. During this time, I had the privilege of learning directly from some of the foremost leaders and innovators in the field.

I am licensed to practice psychotherapy in the following states: Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, California and Connecticut.
