I have a deep passion for working with couples, which is why 90% of my practice is dedicated to this work.

I have trained extensively in several cutting edge approaches to couples therapy. I am a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist. To achieve that title, I engaged in a years-long process, involving 3 distinct levels of instruction followed by rigorous supervision, in order to demonstrate competency in this evidence-based model. I also have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Developmental Model, and in Discernment Counseling, a model that teaches how to work with "mixed agenda couples" (where one partner is considering divorce).
I work with couples in my office, online via tele-therapy, and intensively in a retreat format. At intensive retreats, I work with one couple at a time, over 2 1/2 days, either in Los Angeles, CA or on a picturesque lake in Ellington, CT.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having earned my master's degree from Columbia University in 1997. I spent four years in post-graduate training in couple and family therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, one of the premier training grounds for therapists, and it was there that I had the opportunity to learn from some of the great masters in the field.
I am licensed to practice psychotherapy in the following states: Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, California and Connecticut.
